The government confirmed changes to the Law on Records

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has sent to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia for expedited review of a Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Records in the Field of Labor and Social Security.

The proposed changes and amendments to the law relate to:

  • A clearer definition of the relationship for which records of working time usage must be kept. The proposal additionally redefines the individuals for whom records must be maintained alongside employed workers.
  • Administrative relief from entering data in the record of working time usage. It is proposed to eliminate the entry of data on the usage and extent of break time during working hours.
  • An explicit provision that records of working time usage need not be kept for executive personnel.
  • A clearer definition of the location where records of working time usage are stored. For clarity, it is proposed to explicitly specify that the employer must keep a record of working time usage and the documentation based on which data are entered into the record at the employer’s headquarters or the place of work of the employee.
  • A proposal suggests supplementing the methods of notifying the worker about the data from the record of working time usage. Notification would be via an email address, which the employer and worker agree upon.
