ESG | Sustainability in Business

Let us help you leave a green footprint on the world.

What is ESG?

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance—the three pillars of sustainable and responsible organizational practices.

Environmental

E - Environmental aspect

The environmental aspect encompasses a comprehensive analysis of a company’s environmental impact.

  • Greenhouse gas emissions
  • Use of hazardous chemicals in production
  • Environmental impact of suppliers
  • Climate change resilience
  • Water resource management
  • Waste management

S - Social aspect

The social aspect includes the company’s impact on social environments, both within the organization and in a broader context.

  • Social well-being
  • Promoting racial, cultural, and gender diversity within the organization
  • Ensuring access to communication channels
  • Promoting education
  • Ensuring employee health and social care

G - Governance aspect

The governance aspect addresses how management and leadership foster positive changes within the company.

  • Wage gaps within the organization
  • Compliance with legislation
  • Tax responsibility
  • Diversity and independence of management
  • Relations between management and shareholders, customers, media, and other stakeholders

The importance of ESG reporting

Sustainable business practices are not just a trend. ESG reporting is becoming a necessity and, as such, a key element of many companies’ business strategies.

Early and thoughtful responses to sustainability challenges enable companies to strengthen their competitive advantage while supporting economic development and protecting environmental and social balance.

Implementing an ESG strategy is a process that takes six months to a year, but it brings numerous long-term benefits. Measuring business success through ESG criteria allows companies to go beyond traditional financial metrics and focus on sustainable development, an increasingly important factor for investors, partners, and consumers.

Sustainability – a competitive advantage

  • Sustainability – caring for the environment, people, and legal compliance
  • Attracting and retaining top talent
  • Improved access to capital markets—“green loans”
  • Retention of business partners
  • Strengthening reputation and building trust among customers, investors, and employees
  • Fostering innovation and gaining competitive advantage
  • Meeting consumer expectation

Is ESG reporting mandatory for my company?

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, or “ESG Reporting,” expands the obligations from the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD). Large companies with more than 500 employees already reporting under the NFRD have been required to prepare a report since January 1, 2024, for the year 2025.

The next step will mandate reporting in 2026, beginning January 1, 2025. EU companies meeting two of the following criteria will be obligated to report:

employees
0
net revenue
0 M €
