In the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No. 7/2025 dated February 7, 2025, the new amount of the lowest gross hourly rate for temporary and occasional work of high school and university students was published. This amount cannot be lower than 7.34 euros. The new minimum gross hourly rate came into effect the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on February 8, 2025.
The determination of the new minimum gross hourly rate for temporary and occasional work of students is a result of the minimum wage amount for full-time work published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No. 5, dated January 31, 2025, which is 1,277.72 euros (gross) for work performed from January 1, 2025.

Hourly rate for retirees’ work From March 1, 2025, the lowest hourly rate for temporary or occasional work performed by retirees will also increase to 7.35 euros, and the highest permissible income for such work will be raised from 10,781.07 euros to 10,985.91 euros. The newly determined amounts of hourly rates will be valid from March of the current year until the end of February of the following calendar year.
